Piper Budgeting Platform
Piper ("we," "our," or "us") provides budgeting software for event professionals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.
We collect information that you provide directly to us:
We use the information we collect to:
Your Data Belongs to You. We do not sell, rent, or share your project data or budget information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your financial and project data remains confidential.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encrypted data transmission, secure server infrastructure, and access controls.
Piper’s AI-assisted features (budget import, budget review, Smart Add, the Piper assistant, and synopsis and recap summaries) send the content you provide to Anthropic to generate results for you. Anthropic acts as our sub-processor and, under its Commercial Terms, does not use your inputs or outputs to train its models.
We do not use your data to train third-party or public AI models, and we do not contribute it to public datasets.
We may use anonymized and aggregated data (information that cannot reasonably be traced back to you or your projects) to operate, analyze, improve, and develop Piper’s products, services, and features. Because it is anonymized, this data is no longer personal data.
Where a feature would draw on identifiable data across customers (for example, market benchmarking), participation is opt-in and is never a condition of using Piper, and any figures we surface are anonymized so they cannot be traced back to you or your projects. Using your own data to improve your own experience of Piper is part of providing the service and does not require this.
To review quality and debug problems, we record AI prompts and responses, including the budget figures in them, in Langfuse, an AI observability service run by ClickHouse, Inc. When the Piper assistant searches the web, your message is sent to Brave Search as the search query. Anthropic and Langfuse process this data in the United States; Brave does not state where it processes queries. We keep these traces for quality review and debugging; they are covered by the Data Retention section of this policy.
These companies process data on our behalf to run Piper. Each entry shows what it receives, where it processes it, and the status of its data processing agreement.
Static script and font files load from content delivery networks (jsDelivr, SheetJS, Sentry’s CDN, Google Fonts) that see your browser’s IP address and request but no account or project data.
We update this list before adding a provider that handles your data.
Our marketing site (withpiper.ai) does not use tracking cookies or analytics. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when the page loads, and nothing that tracks you. The only thing we store in your browser is your theme preference (light or dark) using local storage, so the site doesn’t flash white when you reload.
Under EU and UK rules (the ePrivacy Directive), local storage is treated the same as cookies, so we disclose it here for transparency. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
If we ever introduce analytics, advertising, or anything else that could track you, we will update this page and ask for your consent before turning it on.
We retain your account information and project data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
You have the right to:

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and 19d, inc. regarding the Service.
